The 2016 Olympics are here.
I’ve been so excited about this since January. I get so riled up and patriotic during the weeks of the Olympics. I watch everything. I might not know anything about the sport, but gosh golly I watch it!
I’m not a sporty girl at all. The only sport I generally follow is Mixed Martial Arts. MMA…has…been…disappointingly to me (too much doping going on and foolishness in my most loved sport) and the Olympics has lifted me up. So much greatness out there. I think of all their dedication and hard work. I think of what it took to be the best and to represent their county. Wanting to win that gold for your country. All that heart…it’s overwhelming. I support my country 100% , but I’ll still cheer for other countries (well if they aren’t against the USA haha).
I saw Michael Phelps’ last race and saw a great go down in history as still number one. I remember seeing him in 2000. It’s so unbelievable. We’ll see if he really means to retire. He seems dead set on this being it, but you never know. Still…it’s been a joy to watch him all these years and I’m glad to have been able to.
It’s a great time to be alive people
Of course I’ve been putting in some stitch time. I finished another column!
I love the reds in her black hair. They pop so well. You can’t really see it well here, I’m still struggling taking photos of the project haha, but it does pop. I also enjoy the vivid color change because I’m soooo over the blue/green scheme.
By the way…my Big Bang obsession is on overload. I just can’t get enough of this video. The girl…random fan…she did amazing. Not to mention Taeyang looks just gorgeous! His stage voice is just perfection. Goodness. I’d have just died if I were her. This was his first solo with a woman and I just think they did so beautifully. Go her for singing with her idol and kicking ass.
Have a wonderful day!
Life just keeps finding a way to keep me from my stitching. I love December, but it sure gets busy. Now I’ve added getting a new car into the equation and it’s been hectic.
Yeah..I sorta…bought myself a car this past weekend. I signed all the paperwork and officially get it on Tuesday. Let me insert a big note here…I did NOT expect to go buying a car over the weekend. Just the way things turned out. I went in for a looksy and came out with it. No trickery. I wasn’t “pressured” by the salesperson. I just loved the car. I knew I could afford the car. So I went on and got the car. That is all.
This will be my first owned car. I’ve never bought/had my own car before. Remember when I talked about having more opportunities to grow and get into my own after getting this full-time job? Well…it’s a happening!
I bought a new ebony black 2015 Kia Optima LX. I love it and I think I’m getting great pricing. Long story short, I went in wanting a red Kia Optima, but the one I wanted was sold. Good news? This black one had two features I wanted that was NOT on the red one. The push-start and the power seats. I’ve been telling everyone that I think the red one knew it needed to be sold because I should get this black one. (^_^).
The new car is a bittersweet story because the car I’m trading in was my maternal grandmothers. She fought the great Breast Cancer fight, but died in 2009. Ever since, the car she drove has given me some good years. It’s a 1991, a very old car, and did succumb to many problems in the past 3 years but was reliable for the most of it. I’m a sentimental doll and it’ll break my heart to turn her over. It is time though and I’m sure my grandma would be proud of me to be able to get one of my own.
I’m still aiming to finish this last darn AF 4 page before the year ends. I might not have had the stitch time, but I still think I can do it guys. I will have something new to post, stitch wise, next Monday’s blog.
Before I leave, don’t forget to join in on my Holiday HAED Giveaway (give the link a click to read about it) if you haven’t. The closing date for entries is December 18, 2015 at 8pm EST.
Have a wonderful week!
Wow, I had quite the weekend. My birthday was yesterday, Sunday, and I finished another page of AF4 and have 800 more stitches left. Well…1 more page left going up, 800 just sounds more exciting (^_^).
Here’s my AF4 update.
I’ll finish with the last page this week. The previous page flew by. I’ve been paranoid about missing stitches. I count and recount…and recount…and recount…and recount…and recount as I’ve been stitching upwards. When I finally finish this last page I’m going to count a couple of times just to make sure I didn’t skip a line. I don’t think I did though, seeing as I’ve recounted so much I’m sure I know each row by heart! It’s crazy that I haven’t messed up yet. Oops, hope that isn’t a jinx *derp*. Now, onto something that really touched my heart. I received this little card from my mother.
At first, it was so small I just thought it was a card, but to my surprise this was inside.
For those who can’t read it, it says:
“Your father gave this to me in 1985. I give it to you now with all the love that we felt and much, much more!”
It’s the engagement ring that my father gave to my mother when he proposed. The story, that she told me, goes that my father had given this to my mother and my father planned to later get a bigger one. My mother was so happy to get it that even if it wasn’t the biggest thing in the world she wore it proudly! My parents are divorced, and have been since I was about 7 years old. I grew up with my mother, but my father has always been with me. He’s been such a wonderful influence in my life even if he’s hundreds of miles away.
I love my dad. (^_^).
Now, I have this ring passed down to me. I’m even wearing it now because it feels like good luck. I’m a sucker for sentimental things. I cried like a baby when I got it and now I don’t want to part with it. The positive energy from it…the fact that I have a memento that’s a part of my parents history…is the best gift I could ever receive.
I’m going to definitely cherish it. If only it didn’t make me cry happily every time I looked at it (^_^).
I hope you all have a wonderful week!
There’s really no post today. I’ve been wiped out from work over the past week. When I get off I just want to take a nap, work-out, eat dinner, and read. When I had time off I napped, watched TV, and wrote a little. I decided to finish one of my stories, that I have a couple of chapters for, instead of starting on two new writing projects. I complied a great outline and even started reworking the first chapter. Whenever I get through at least 4 chapters I’ll make sure to post.
Now, to help cast a happy spell on you guys for the week, enjoy this wonderful playlist that’s bound to put a smile on your face.
This is Simon’s Cat. I found it when I was looking for tutorials on YouTube ( I mean really how great is YouTube for finding help with things). I love cats and the cartoons just made me go “d’awww”.
Enjoy the week everyone!
